Originally built in 1664, Murrayshall House was initially owned by Sir Andrew Murray. The direct descendants of this family, the Earl of Mansfield, still occupy Scone Palace just down the road. The House was modernised in the 18th Century and again in 1864. The property continued to change hands following various tragedies until 1973 when it was sold to a group of businessmen who made the most of the 365 acre estate and created the basis for the luxury hotel that you see today.
