The Cross Tay Link Road is the biggest infrastructure project ever undertaken in Perth and Kinross. The 6km route will curl north of the city and Scone, connecting the Perth to Inverness A9, with the A93 to Blairgowrie and the A94 to Coupar Angus. It is an exciting time for the city, with the project reducing both congestion and pollution.
The Cross Tay Link Road is the central element of the Perth Transport Futures Project. The improvement to the local transport network and traffic flow will significantly reduce journey times and enhance pedestrian and cycle safety.
The Stormontfield to Scone section of the CTLR is already open, with the Highfield woods and green bridge stretch soon to be completed.
The three-span Destiny Bridge, the Tay crossing, is the most visible symbol of the £150 million project. The tying together of the structure represents the strengths of Perth and Kinross. Despite the cost, there will be an obvious economic impact, coupled with the environmental and infrastructure benefits.
For visitors, all areas of the city become more accessible, together with reducing journey times north of the city. The Perth Transport Futures Project has tackled the transport issues head on. Further projects include junction improvement, link roads, and city centre improvements. For business tourism, Perth is now in an increasingly strong position for both national and international visitors.
