  • Participants arrive in Edinburgh – embark on luxury coach to Perthshire
    Disembark at Tullibole Castle, for refreshment and a personal tour with owner
    Rhoderick Moncrieff, as he uncovers what life at the Castle was really like for its 17th century inhabitants

 

  • Delicious catering in the Castle’s ancient Great Hall by Heritage Portfolio

 

  • Coach journey continues to Errol Park

 

  • Check in at Errol Park, the groups’ exclusive country home for the duration of their stay. Errol Park is the ancestral home of the Heriot Maitland family since 1800
    Dinner in the stunning dining room at Errol Park, with a ‘wee dram’ by the fire before retiring to one of the venue’s grand bedrooms

 

Perthshire History uncovered: 4 day leisure agenda – Day 2

  • After a delicious full Scottish breakfast at Errol Park, the group assembles in the delightful grounds, to be instructed in Highland Games activities, followed by a session of axe-throwing!

 

  • Coach to Crieff, to visit the historical Glenturret distillery – one of Scotland’s oldest, and sample some of its delicious Scotch whiskies

 

  • You’ll stay for dinner – enjoying Perthshire’s new Michelin Starred Restaurant ‘Lallique’
    Return to Errol Park

 

 

Perthshire History uncovered: 4 day leisure agenda – Day 3

  • Breakfast, followed by coach to Perth City Centre to see the new City Museum (Opens 2024)
    Tour of Perth City Museum, viewing one of the world’s richest historical archive collections, culminating in entry to the vault containing the ‘Stone of Scone’ or ‘Stone of Destiny’ – the historical rock that has been used in the crowning of all Kings and Queens of Scotland, and after the union of the crowns, the Kings and Queens of Britain. It has been returned to its home in Perthshire from Edinburgh Castle

 

  • Lunch and photo opportunities in historic Perth City Centre

 

  • A visit and private tour of ‘Fair Maid’s House’ – the oldest secular building in Perth, with parts dating back to 1475. The inspiration for the novel ‘The Fair Maid of Perth’, by Sir Walter Scott, Fair Maid’s House is now the headquarters of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, and contains many fascinating Geographical exhibits

 

  • Coach to Murrayshall Country Estate just outside Perth. The group will enjoy a private dinner in the Garden Room at this Baronial Hotel.
    Return to Errol Park for a nightcap

  • Full Scottish Breakfast at Errol Park, before boarding a coach back to Edinburgh

 

  • On the way, stop off in the historic city of Stirlingshire and see the magnificent Castle
    Return to Edinburgh for onward travel
