In 2020, The Scottish Sun broke the news that Perth had been crowned ‘the happiest place in Scotland’. As with any such poll, this result could not be validated scientifically, but the finding was part of an interesting research exercise by property website ‘Rightmove’, which indexed every town in the UK using happiness measures including friendliness and community spirit, whether people feel they can be themselves, nature and green spaces, opportunities locally to develop skills and amenities including schools, restaurants, shops and sports facilities.

In 2021, whilst the title passed to (near neighbour) Stirling, Perth is still riding high at number 2 in Scotland, continuing a run which beats any other location North of the border. Arrival into Edinburgh

Luxury coach to Perthshire – arrive at Dunkeld to stretch the groups legs on the stunning ‘Hermitage’ waterfall walk, enjoying the unmatchable open spaces of Perthshire!

Followed by afternoon tea and an orientation meeting at nearby Birnam Arts Centre, a bright, airy and unusual venue in the heart of pictureque Dunkeld & Birnam.

Head to delightful Murrayshall Country Estate near Perth, for a friendly Perth welcome!

Informal supper at Murrayshall Country Estate, at their award-winning restaurant Eòlas.

Full Scottish Breakfast at Murrayshall Hotel.

Head to Perth Racecourse for a day at the races! One of Perth’s most exciting amenities, at the racecourse you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the corporate hospitality box at the same time as having a little flutter on the horses!*

Head into Perth for a performance at Perth Concert Hall, an amazing concert venue in the heart of the city, followed by a VIP supper at the venue and a chance to chat to some of the performers.

Return to Murrayshall Country Estate for a traditional Scottish nightcap of a wee dram

Full Scottish breakfast at Murrayshall Country Estate.

Head to Willowgate Activity centre near Perth, for a smile-inducing morning of kayaking and paddle-boarding on the River Tay, through scenic Perth.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at the activity centre that will fuel you for the afternoons exertions!

A session of archery practise with the fabulous team at Willowgate.

Head back to Murrayshall Country Estate for a change of clothes, before transferring to nearby Blair Castle, a stunning historic venue, for a formal Scottish banquet, complete with Scottish piper.

Full breakfast and check out from Murrayshall Country Estate.

Head back to Edinburgh, stopping off at Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, to excercise the group’s creativity, as each attendee creates their own blended Scotch whisky to try and rival the mighty Dewar’s blend!

For many, happiness and chocolate are one and the same, so a stop off at The Highland Chocolatier in Grandtully for a guided tasting of the Iain Burnett’s sumptuous velvet truffles is the perfect goodbye to Perthshire!
