Quality local produce
Restaurants, bars, and cafes have increasingly sprung up over the region, satisfying the growing demand for quality dining and drinking experiences. The region is fortunate to have such delicious local ingredients. From the barley for the whisky, to other cereals, organic vegetables, and not forgetting the world-renowned berries. Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and more have helped put Perthshire on the food map.
Perthshire is lucky to source a lot of the produce locally, and such is the demand, much is exported. The food and drink industry creates valuable jobs and is significant to the local economy.

For those who enjoy a tipple, the whisky is world-renowned, with Glenturret, Dewar’s, Blair Atholl and Tullibardine all in Perthshire. Meanwhile, the range of food satisfies omnivores, herbivores and carnivores alike, with talent on show creating wonderful dishes to suit all pallets and diets.
Two 2* Michelin restaurants
With eating in mind, Perthshire has two 2* Michelin restaurants. Demonstrating the quality and creativity on offer in the region. Lalique at the Glenturret Distillery, and Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles are the only 2* Michelin restaurants in Scotland. Both retained their Michelin stars in 2026, with Executive Chef at Lalique, Mark Donald, saying, ““Retaining Two Michelin Stars reflects the passion, innovation, and care that shape everything we do at The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant. It is a real privilege to work together with my team to continue our success, showcasing the very best of Scotland to our guests. I would also like to congratulate this year’s newly awarded and retained Michelin-starred restaurants.”
Glenturret has a fantastic the fantastic Aberturret Estate House. An exclusive-use property for 12, or as part of a Lalique dining experience, the property is ideal for a small group, company getaway, or team building venue.
Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles has been in the Michelin Guide since 2006 and is tucked away in the heart of the 5* resort. Benefitting from the nearby Secret Garden, Andrew Fairlie enjoys seasonal ingredients in abundance. Led by Head Chef, Stephen McLaughlin, the restaurant has been at the forefront of Perthshire’s food and drink scene growth.
