City of Perth Salute
Sunday 6th August 2023, from 12 – 3:30pm
This fantastic, free event on Sunday 6th August, brings the electric atmosphere of a Tattoo style arena event to Perth city centre and offers everyone the chance to see military and civilian bands from across Scotland in a dazzling parade through the streets, and an open air, grandstand arena on the North Inch.
Presentations will grant the esteemed Freedom of the City of Perth upon Eve Muirhead and her Team GB Olympic Curling Champions, and Lucinda Russell OBE and Peter Scudamore MBE, horse trainers to the winners of the Grand Nationals of 2017 and 2023.
As well as this you’ll enjoy static displays from the British Legion Bikers Association, Dragoon Guards Jackals and military vehicles including children’s land-rovers and much more!
Wander around and soak up the atmosphere of the Salute Fringe, including the tremendous talents of the McAndrew Sisters on our main stage. A fantastic collection of Scottish Military vehicles will also be on display – a must see for any motor enthusiasts, and there’s inflatables and a climbing wall to keep the kids happy and entertained all afternoon long. All activities and fringe shows are free of charge.
You can pack a picnic or whet your appetite with one of our street food vendors. Expect to find coffees and an ice cream van too!
Bag yourself a seat in our City of Perth Salute Grandstand, looking out over the main Arena, this is the perfect viewpoint to enjoy the Parade performers as they showcase their talents. All the thrill of a Tattoo style arena event awaits you, as each of the acts brings their unique flavour of entertainment to the North Inch Park.
