Are Venue Finders being Displaced by Technology

May 29, 2022 by Catriona Anderson

Are venue finders being displaced by technology – and what does this mean for the business events sector? This is the question at the heart of a joint session by venuedirectory.com & Agito taking place at The Meetings Show.

Michael Begley, CEO of venuedirectory.com explains: “The events industry is embracing new venue-finding technology in a big way in order to support its business recovery. Digitally integrated solutions are now available which deliver significant benefits for both planner and venue. “For example, planners – whether they’re working for agencies or corporates or independent – can now easily can search for venues, enquire, book, track, invoice, report and make commission claims – all in one place.

“This has, in turn, increased the speed of response and breadth of venues available to the meeting planner. Armed with the right tools, event professionals can quickly and efficiently carry out their own venue finding at a time when resources are stretched. “What does this mean for the professional venue finder? Are they at risk of being replaced by dynamic venue search tools?”

Michael will consider what the future holds for venue finding in “Are venue finders being displaced by technology?”, a panel discussion at The Meetings Show. He’ll be joined by Agito’s Chief Technology Officer, Carl Law, and Head of Venue Find and Events, Caroline Medcalf to debate the current and future role technology plays in booking meetings.

Are venue finders being displaced by technology? – by venuedirectory.com & Agito takes place on Wednesday 29 June at 12.30 – 1.15pm at The Meetings Show.
